Marina Bigsy's Journey to Self-Expression

Marina Bigsy, a 42-year-old woman with a passion for life, shares her inspiring journey towards embracing glamour and self-expression with a portrait session. In this interview, Marina opens up about her experiences, motivations, and the exciting photo shoot that has added a touch of elegance to her life.

“I’m Marina Bigsy. I'm 42 years old. And the reason I was looking at this campaign was sometimes when you get a little older, running life every day, that you don't feel like you're stopping to just take a moment to glam up a little bit. So, I thought it was a good opportunity to do that.” – Marina B.

Embracing Age and Slowing Down

Marina's perspective on age is refreshing. She believes that with age comes the wisdom to appreciate life's little moments and to prioritize what truly matters. Her commitment to slowing down and savoring life's experiences is truly inspiring.

“I would say being 42, that younger me was in a lot more of a hurry. And although things are busy all the time, I would say that now. I look back and try to just slow down, and I tell my kids that you can't guarantee tomorrow, so live life. So, we're always adventuring and making sure that we can do that. I didn't do that as a child. So, as I'm older and you see that there's not as much of a runway ahead of you, I think it's more important to stop and do the things that you really want to do.” – Marina B.

A Facebook Ad Sparks Inspiration

Marina recalls the moment when she stumbled upon a Facebook advertisement that caught her eye. It was a promotion for a photoshoot session called "40 over 40." Despite being just 42, she felt compelled to participate in this unique experience. The artistic quality of the photos and the chance to feel beautiful and confident appealed to her deeply.

“So, for this session itself, it actually just popped up as a Facebook advertisement for me, and it was a 40 over 40. I’m only 42, but I still thought it would be a nice idea to participate in something like this. So, I looked at the pictures across the website, and I saw that there's a nice artistic touch to the pictures, and sometimes you just want to feel a little bit pretty as a woman. So, I thought it would be a nice opportunity to do that.” – Marina B.

Marina, like all of us, yearned to feel beautiful, regardless of age, and this opportunity seemed tailor-made for that.

Preparing for the Glamour Shoot

Marina's decision to participate in the photo shoot was not only about personal expression but also about enhancing her professional image. As a leader in her company who frequently attends conferences, she recognized the importance of having updated headshots to present herself confidently in her field.

“Okay, so a good reason why I needed to there’s a good reason why I was looking at this as well, is because I needed to get my headshots updated. So, I'm at a point in my career where I am at a lot of professional conferences, and as a leader at the company, I thought it was important to have an updated professional look. So, I thought it'd be a good way to do that at the same time.” – Marina B.

The Glamour Shoot Experience

Marina's experience during her custom portrait session was marked by preparation and the support of the photographer, Diana. She felt well-informed about the process, stayed hydrated, and was guided expertly by Diana. The anticipation of seeing the final pictures only added to her excitement.

“I felt very prepared during before the shoot, I got a lot of information that was very specific making sure I hydrate, making sure I knew what kind of outfits and what to expect on the day of during the shoot and before the shoot. I’m just naturally so. But I would say that Diana did a really great job of just relaxing me and trying to make me feel like I was posing in a way that made sense and then showed me some pictures along the way, and they did. I’m eager to see them.” – Marina B.
