Rediscovering Fun and Freedom

Embracing the "40 over 40" Campaign

Laura's story resonates with many women who have embraced the philosophy that age holds no limits. She found herself enjoying life's adventures more in her 40s than in her younger years. In contrast to societal norms pressuring women to mature quickly, Laura has broken free from these expectations and is relishing the liberty to be herself.

“What attracted me to the age campaign is that I realized I’m having more fun and letting myself have more fun than what I did in my 20s or 30’s. I think especially as women, we're told, like, grow up, figure your stuff out, kind of get mature as soon as possible. And I have kind of come back from that and stopped worrying about what people might think of me. And that's given me a lot of freedom. So, I'm having a great time, and I thought this seemed like a lot of fun, and it was awesome.” – Laura Chalipka

One of the liberating aspects of the age campaign is shedding inhibitions. Laura emphasizes how she stopped worrying about people's opinions and embarked on a journey of self-discovery. This newfound sense of liberation has added a layer of authenticity and happiness to her life.

A Prepared and Exciting Portrait Session

Preparing for the "40 over 40" Portrait Session

Laura's preparation for the 40 over 40 portrait session was not just about outfits and poses. Months of communication allowed her to align her vision with photographer’s expertise. This collaboration created a comfortable atmosphere where Laura knew what to expect, erasing any feelings of unpreparedness.

Capturing Joy in the "40 over 40" Moment

During the photoshoot, Laura experienced a blend of excitement and anticipation. As a photographer, my role extended beyond the camera; it was about creating an atmosphere where Laura felt at ease to be herself. The unfamiliarity of the lens soon gave way to genuine expressions and emotions.

“I definitely felt prepared. It was really amazing. We’ve been talking for months, so being able to get the kind of photo inspo together, outfit ideas, I knew what to expect when I got here, so I didn’t in any way feel like I came in unprepared. I kind of didn't really know what a photo shoot would entail. That’s not something I probably could have prepared for all the aspects of that, but it was like, just a lot of fun. But I need to come hydrated, come in with a good attitude and ready to have a nice time.” – Laura Chalipka

Photos with a Purpose

Laura's desire for unique portraits goes beyond ordinary headshots. While she values her corporate headshots, she sought something deeper – images that genuinely reflect her personality. As an artist, Laura plans to incorporate these portraits into her business endeavors, adding a touch of whimsy to her professional image.

Laura's passion business finds expression in art shows and galleries. With her vibrant and whimsical portraits from the "40 over 40" session, she can leave a lasting impression on her business cards and promotional materials. These images become a visual extension of her artistic spirit.

“I do have a headshot that was done today. I’m really excited to see those. I’ve had many corporate headshots done, and they're nice, but I really wanted to kind of own that for myself and be able to have one that I really feel like speaks to me. And then in addition as an artist, there's sometimes shows that I do or galleries that I'll display at. So, it'll be really cool to have one of my more whimsical photos for my business cards for my passion business, which is not really business, but it's my passion.” -Laura Chalipka

“If you can take some time for yourself, get your makeup done, get your hair done, kind of have someone that has an eye for how you look the best and just really enjoy that experience, I would recommend it a million percent.”

Absolutely. I think, again, specific to women, we kind of let ourselves get lost in the background. So, if you can take some time for yourself, get your makeup done, get your hair done, kind of have someone that has an eye for how you look the best and just really enjoy that experience, I would recommend it a million percent.” -Laura Chalipka
